The Challenge
The security, technological, and societal landscape is rapidly changing. Today, drones are highly capable, technologically advanced, and at the same time widely accessible aerial systems that can be used for espionage or as weapons. Effective drone defence is therefore essential to protect civilians, military personnel, and critical infrastructure. Currently, there is no solution available that combines safety, efficiency, and reliability.
The Solution
INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® SHIELD is a safe and effective drone defence system based on ultra-fast, high-precision laser beam steering technology. By placing a precisely controlled light spot at extremely high speed, critical structural components or control elements of targeted drones are neutralized within seconds. The system can be deployed in urban environments and other highly sensitive locations – eye-safe for people standing nearby, cost-efficiently and without the use of ammunition.
The Technology
INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® SHIELD essentially consists of a laser effector and a supply unit. The system can be operated autonomously and the standardized EU-pallet-sized form factor allows INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® SHIELD to be easily transported using standard vehicles. The underlying laser system technology has already proven itself in industrial environments and is characterized by (eye-) safety, precision, reliability, and efficiency. The system intercepts drones within fractions of a second by delivering targeted hits to vulnerabilities previously identified through AI-based analysis.
This extremely fast response time allows the system to effectively defend against swarms of drones. In addition, the parallel and coordinated operation of multiple systems enables scalable and efficient protection. Interfaces for software solutions, including standardized battle management software systems, are also available.
