At INLEAP Photonics, we develop innovative and ultra-fast laser system technology for industrial and safety-critical applications. In addition to optimising laser processes in manufacturing, we also work on high-precision systems for drone defence. Our goal is to set new standards in productivity and precision with maximum safety, reliability and efficiency.
To further develop and scale our INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® technology for both industrial applications and safety-critical scenarios such as drone defence, we are looking to strengthen our software development team:
Software Engineer (m/f/d)
As a Software Engineer (m/f/d), you will develop the control software for our innovative, ultra-fast laser beam steering technologies. You will design and implement real-time algorithms for precise beam positioning, path planning and control with deterministic runtimes and minimal latency. You will transform prototype functions into robust, production-ready software and expand them into AI-supported solutions that adapt in real time. You will integrate sensors and actuators, connect MCU and FPGA interfaces, automate tests with hardware in the loop and work closely with colleagues from optics, mechanics and electronics teams.
Your responsibilities:
- Development of C++ software for our laser beam guidance system, supplemented by Python for tools, tests and scripts.
- Implementation of algorithms for image recognition and laser-based position control, including AI-supported adaptation processes.
- Integration of software interfaces, for example FPGA and PLC libraries, as well as setting up automated tests including hardware in the loop.
- Scaling: Setting up modular code libraries and reusable components for quick adaptation to customer systems.
- Systematic debugging, profiling and optimisation for high-performance applications.
Your qualifications and skills:
- Completed degree in computer science, mechatronics or related subjects (bachelor’s/master’s/diploma).
- Ideally, experience in real-time systems and embedded software.
- Strong programming skills (C++, Python, MATLAB) and knowledge of version control (Git).
- Hands-on mentality, good English skills and ability to work in a team in an agile start-up environment.
Start date:
- Immediately or by agreement
