The Situation

Protecting people and critical infrastructure is of paramount importance. Drones, in particular, are contributing to an increasingly challenging security environment: they are widely available, significantly more capable than they were just a few years ago and are used for espionage, as weapons, as well as for criminal activities. Existing drone defence technologies are often too slow, lack precision, are costly, or cannot be deployed in urban environments.

INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® SHIELD is a system designed for safe, reliable, and effective drone defence. Based on highly precise, ultra-fast laser beam-steering technology originally developed for industrial applications. The system can intercept drones with minimal effort and without posing risks to the surrounding environment.

An extremely small, precisely controlled, high-energy light spot targets a previously identified vulnerable point on the drone. The laser beam steering system operates with exceptional precision and at ultra-high speed. The technology used enables eye-safe operation, allowing for safe use even in urban environments.

The Situation

Manufacturing processes are highly optimized workflows: the lower the amount of non-productive process times, the more efficient and cost-effective production becomes. In laser material processing, the process is still largely determined by laser beam steering systems that rely on moving masses, such as mirrors. Systems like galvanometer or polygon scanners therefore cause additional non-productive times and account for a significant share of the overall process.

INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® is an innovative, high-precision, ultra-fast laser beam steering system that significantly reduces non-productive process times. The laser beam can be steered up to 2500 times faster than with conventional beam steering systems. In addition, INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® can be integrated into existing laser systems, making manufacturing processes more efficient, sustainable, and more cost effective.

The digital, pixel-based laser beam steering technology is the result of years of development and extensive testing in demanding, robustness-critical environments. It is suitable for both ultra-precise applications and large-area processes and is characterized by high energy efficiency.
