Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d)

Hannover

full-time

At INLEAP Photonics, we develop innovative and ultra-fast laser system technology for industrial and safety-critical applications. In addition to optimising laser processes in manufacturing, we also work on high-precision systems for drone defence. Our goal is to set new standards in productivity and precision with maximum safety, reliability and efficiency.

To further develop and scale our INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® technology for both industrial applications and safety-critical scenarios such as drone defence, we are looking to strengthen our team in the area of mechanical development:

Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d)

As a Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d) at INLEAP Photonics, you will drive the mechanical development of our innovative laser beam steering system technology. You will design and optimise precision mechanical components for ultra-fast beam steering that must be scalable and low-maintenance in highly dynamic environments. Your work will include simulation, prototyping and system integration to transfer our products from laboratory scale to industrial series production. You will work closely with the optics, software and electronics departments to create innovative solutions that minimise inertia and maximise throughput.

Your responsibilities:

  • Developing and optimising mechanical designs.
  • Prototyping and CNC manufacturing, including validation in real-world laser applications.
  • Scaling strategies: transitioning from individual components to scalable modules for mass production.

Your qualifications and skills:

  • Completed degree in mechanical engineering/mechatronics (master’s/diploma)
  • Experience in the mechanical design of optomechanics or precision devices (e.g. in the laser or semiconductor industry).
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, NX) and simulation tools; experience with mechatronics integration is an advantage.
  • Anticipated scaling skills: Ability to develop cost-effective designs for series production, taking into account sustainability (e.g. recyclable materials).
  • Hands-on mentality, good English skills and ability to work in a team in an agile start-up environment.

Start date:

  • Immediately or by agreement

What we offer:

  • Creative freedom: Work directly on the further development of our INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® technology and actively contribute your own ideas.
  • Innovative environment: Develop technologies that contribute to greater sustainability and safety and redefine laser-based applications.
  • Interdisciplinary work: Work closely with experts in optics, electronics and software with short decision-making processes and genuine team spirit.
  • Flexibility & prospects: Benefit from flexible working hours, a high degree of personal responsibility and development opportunities in a growing high-tech company.
  • Central location: Our location in Hanover is centrally located (Hans-Böckler-Allee 20, 30173 Hanover) and offers excellent transport connections and short distances.

If you are interested in taking on responsibility in a young high-tech company, actively helping to shape the development of an innovative company and creating real added value for society and security with your work, we look forward to receiving your application.

Please send your application with your CV and salary expectations to career@inleap-photonics.com or fill out the application form.

After an internal review of your documents, we will get back to you as soon as possible.
